Single-Family Home & Barn

Utah | USA

Two outstanding examples of sustainable construction have been realized in Utah: a modern barn and a single-family home. Both projects embrace an eco-conscious building approach using prefabricated wall elements made from nail-laminated timber (NLT), assembled with our LIGNOLOC® wooden nails. A solution that is as environmentally friendly as it is durable – perfectly suited for contemporary architecture.

Metal-free nail-laminated timber elements without full-surface gluing

In this project, Euclid Timber Frame used nail-laminated timber (NLT) elements – solid wood panels made by mechanically fastening individual boards together with nails – that are securely connected without any metal or full-surface adhesive bonding. The sustainable structural components, used in both the barn and the single-family home, consist of upright boards placed edge to edge and fastened with the innovative LIGNOLOC® wooden nails by BECK – eliminating the need for conventional full-surface adhesive bonding of NLT panels. With LIGNOLOC® NLT elements, Euclid Timber Frame combined the benefits of industrial prefabrication with the natural strength of solid wood.

Added value: Off-site prefabrication

Prefabricating building components offers a wide range of benefits. It shortens construction time by allowing manufacturing and site preparation to take place simultaneously. The high precision of industrial prefabrication ensures exact fit and consistently high quality. Optimized material usage reduces construction waste and minimizes the ecological footprint. Independent of weather conditions on-site, the building process is significantly accelerated. The result: maximum planning reliability and lower overall costs in residential construction.

Less noise and dust on-site means less environmental impact. Prefabrication using LIGNOLOC® wooden nails by BECK enables cost-efficient, fast, and sustainable construction.
